The Canadian Association of Chinese Performing Arts is welcoming residents and tourists to experience the essence of Chinese culture through a showcase of Chinese culture and arts.
The 2024 Dragon Festival at Nathan Phillips Square promises something for everyone to enjoy, including Chinese performing arts, traditional Chinese customs, folkloric cultures, traditional Chinese garments, martial arts, and lion and dragon dancing.
Highlighting the festival is the acclaimed Lion Dance, which will feature acrobatic feats on high poles. This year, the festival expands its repertoire with several new shows, including the Calligraphy Show, where each brushstroke tells a unique story of beauty and finesse. Additionally, the festival will incorporate performances that reflect Canada’s diverse cultural fabric, featuring indigenous, Asian, and Caribbean artists.
A major draw for the festival this year is the introduction of the Luminati Night Light Show. As darkness falls, attendees will be treated to an enchanting display of lights that transform the square into a visual spectacle. This show complements the already popular Illumi Water Show, where jets of water and vibrant lights dance to a synchronized soundtrack, enhancing the magical evening atmosphere.
You can also look forward to the Lion Dance International Championship Canada 2024, which will see top local and international teams compete in a display of skill and teamwork, promising thrilling performances for all attendees.

For art enthusiasts, the Toronto International Art Exhibition of Calligraphy & Painting will also take place at Toronto City Hall, presenting artworks that express themes of peace and beauty derived from nature.
No multicultural festival is complete without authentic ethnic food. At the festival, you can taste lamb skewers, wonton soup, charcoal squid, and many more mouth-watering street foods.
In addition, there will be various vendors showcasing authentic wares at the festival. Admission to the festival is free.
