Illumi Mississauga Returns With Spooktacular Halloween Spectacle This October

Mississauga is set to host the third iteration of “Spooky at Illumi,” the GTA’s expansive outdoor Halloween spectacle.

Per the news release, this year’s edition promises an array of new features and returning favorites. Starting on October 3, 2024, the event will run until early November, catering to families, friends, and coworkers looking for a unique Halloween adventure.

Spanning a massive area of 600,000 square feet—equivalent to 10 football fields—the venue will light up with more than 20 million LED lights. This display includes a striking 47-meter high tree of lights, matching the height of the Statue of Liberty, along with an eclectic mix of illuminated Halloween-themed characters and structures.

“Spooky at Illumi” promises a full sensory experience with a curated soundtrack of iconic horror film music playing in the background, enhancing the array of visual stimuli.

Attendees can look forward to an enchanted world filled with playful black lights and lasers, whimsical jack-o-lanterns, hundreds of scarlet spiders, and a host of neon skeletons, glowing ghouls, witches, and monsters.

This year, the creative team behind Illumi has introduced two new thematic worlds to the Halloween experience, bringing the total to 16 different universes.

Among the novelties is the “Puppies and Kitties” universe, designed to celebrate the love between individuals and their pets. In addition, the much-loved “Doggie Night” will return on October 16, where pets and their owners can partake in a festive Halloween stroll dressed in their favorite costumes.

Tickets for the event are already on sale, with an advance purchase promotion offering up to 30% off. Prices start at $17.00 for kids and $24.00 for general admission, while children two years and younger can enter free of charge.

The experience typically lasts about 75 minutes.

After Halloween, the Halloween-themed portion of the light exhibition will revert to a wonderland filled with thousands of monumental light sculptures, from glittering horses and reindeer to a forest of stalagmites inhabited by adorable penguins, wonderful whales and Igloos.
