In Search of Christmas Spirit returns for the 5th year with a Christmas tale experience at Banff National Park presented by Banff & Lake Louise Tourism. The event celebrates the wildlife of Banff National Park and their gratitude for the safe haven the park provides.
The story is told through large illuminated displays and puppets of all the wildlife that call Banff National Park home. Some of these light displays include a massive wise owl, a fox, dolphins, and a polar bear with her cub.
Created by acclaimed Indigenous sculptor and painter Jason Carter, the vibrant animal installations form the core of this magical journey. Creative Director Bridget Ryan co-wrote the story, oversaw production, and collaborated with local talent to craft the sensory-rich sound design.
Though this is a free event, you will have to reserve your spot online. Visitors should dress for winter conditions; the trail includes uneven terrain and is not accessible for mobility devices. Pets and food are not permitted.
For an ultimate experience, head to Banff Gondola to enjoy Nightrise, where multimedia, storytelling, and nature come together for an inspiring perspective on one of the most dramatic and visually stunning mountain landscapes in the Canadian Rockies.
