The aircraft are expected to leave Edmonton International Airport on Wednesday at about 12:40 p.m. and fly north across the city. Their route will pass near:
- William Hawrelak Park
- Alberta Legislature
- Churchill Square.
The team will then continue to Villeneuve Airport for a non-aerobatic display scheduled for 12:45 p.m. before returning south to Edmonton International. People can follow the flight through tracking websites and apps using the call sign SNBD1.
The Edmonton appearance comes during a significant season for the Snowbirds. The team’s CT-114 Tutor aircraft, first introduced in 1963, is approaching retirement. The 2026 season is expected to be the final opportunity for Canadians to see the familiar jets perform before a replacement aircraft is introduced.
Several Alberta airshows are included in the schedule.
The Cold Lake Airshow runs July 18 and 19 at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake. Along with the Snowbirds, the event will feature the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team, a P-38L Lightning and static aircraft displays. Tickets range from $20 to $45.
The Red Deer Regional Airshow follows from July 24 to 26 at Red Deer Regional Airport in Springbrook. Admission ranges from $20 to $40.
The Grande Prairie Regional Airshow takes place August 1 and 2 at Grande Prairie Airport. Tickets cost between $25 and $40.
The Snowbirds will then continue to Victoria, Abbotsford, and White Rock for airshows.
