I. Weekend of August 21 – 23 2015
1. RBC Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival
Ontario’s largest annual children’s festival takes place at the Markham Civic Centre and features a wide variety of entertainment, play zones, crafts and other outdoor activities for children 2 to 12 years of age. Details
2. Steampunk Festival and Arcade
A retro-futuristic community festival celebrating all things Steampunk! Enjoy a day of historical make-believe in an authentic 1910 Edwardian Schoolhouse. Tour through an outdoor arcade of Steampunk vendors and demonstrations. Join The Lost Ladies at Zion Schoolhouse where there will be an outdoor arcade of Steampunk vendors and demonstrations! Enjoy performances at centre stage; learn about Victorian and Edwardian-era styles and technological advances. There will be hands-on activities for all ages and of course tasty Steampunk treats. 3. CNE
The Ex (Canadian National Exhibition) is Canada’s largest annual fair and the seventh largest in North America. Details

4. Ultimate Thrills Circus
Come one, come all! This August, International Showplace will be taken over by Ultimate Thrills Circus! Never a dull moment, this circus will amaze guests of all ages with edge-of-seat thrills. Watch in astonishment as these performers balance and ride the Motorcycle Highwire above your head, the Acrobats perform the Swinging Trapeze and Wheel of Destiny, while Renaldo the Clown will keep you entertained until the final minute. 5. Family Channel Big Ticket Summer Concert
Family’s annual Big Ticket Summer Concert, presented by LEGO Friends, is back! Showcasing the biggest and brightest young talent from across the globe, this year’s lineup of performers includes Becky G, The Vamps, cast members from The Next Step, Shane Harte and The Tide. The concert will be hosted by Lamar Johnson and Jordan Clark from The Next Step. Details
6. Port Credit Busker Festival
A three-day event with over 40 professional Buskers, 8 staging areas, 4 spectacular fire shows and lots of “surprise fly pitches” throughout Port Credit – not to mention the incredible Xtreme Finale on Sunday with every Busker performing one big show! Details
7. Wild Blueberry Festival
Celebrate the end of the summer season in the 6th year of this annual festival! We have a full day planned. From tasting to storytelling. From cooking workshops to wild blueberry beer! Enjoy a full day of family activities around this super berry native to North America. Details
8. Day out with Thomas
Thomas the Train comes to Uxbridge for the first time. Day Out With Thomas provides an opportunity for kids to take a ride (25 minute) with their favorite tank engine, meet the railway controller Sir Topham Hatt, have fun in the Imagination Station, face painting, musical entertainment, model train ineractive display, video viewing, story telling, wooden maze, antique midway, face painting, children’s entertainers, temporary tattoos and wagon rides and much more! 9. “Can You Imagine?”
Enjoy Future-themed Kid’s Activities, and explore the innovative exhibit that lets YOU tell US what matters most for the future. Through interactive displays, you provide feedback that helps the Peel Region plan for the needs of our communities in 2035. This input will be used to inform our Strategic Plan and Community Vision.
