Moms are getting a special treat this Mother’s Day weekend at one of Vancouver Island’s most scenic destinations.

Malahat SkyWalk is offering free admission to moms, grandmothers, aunts, and all mother figures on May 10 and 11, as long as one other ticket is purchased. The unique nature experience promises not only panoramic coastal views, but a relaxed, family-friendly outing that’s a little different from the traditional brunch.

Set high above the forest floor on Vancouver Island, Malahat SkyWalk offers visitors a unique way to connect with nature. The experience includes a peaceful stroll along the elevated TreeWalk, views of coastal waters from a 10-storey spiral tower that rises 250 metres above sea level, and seasonal blooms, including vibrant Arbutus trees.

Spring makes the perfect backdrop for a Mother’s Day weekend trip. Visitors can explore the TreeWalk, featuring Arbutus trees in full bloom, before ascending the 10-storey Spiral Tower, which stands 250 metres above sea level. The panoramic views stretch across the inlet and coastline, offering a peaceful, high-up vantage point for celebrating mom.

Some other highlights include:

  • Eco-art driftwood sculptures by local artist Tanya Bub

  • A forest path known as Luke’s Lane

  • A selfie swing with coastal views

  • The Happy Camper cart, serving churros and Drumroaster coffee

For food and relaxation, the Tower Plaza offers a fire pit and seating area, where guests can enjoy:

  • Smash burgers, gourmet hot dogs, and deluxe sandwiches

  • A selection of beer, wine, and other drinks

  • Softy’s dairy-free soft-serve desserts

Getting there just got easier, too. The free return shuttle between downtown Victoria and the SkyWalk resumes Mother’s Day weekend and will run through October 12, 2025.
