Muttart Conservatory

Muttart Conservatory will be reopening to the public on June 11th, once Alberta moves to Step 2 of its Open for Summer Reopening Plan.

The city of Edmonton closed Muttart Conservatory in July of 2019 for major refurbishment costing $13 million.

The planned reopening in early 2021 was delayed due to COVID-19 health restrictions.

Visitors will need to buy timed tickets online at Move. Learn. Play. website.

Since it opened in 1976, the Muttart’s vibrant, colourful, tranquil and inspirational pyramid display gardens have been a welcome oasis for visitors.

The Muttart Conservatory was designed by award-winning Canadian architect Peter Hemingway. It has four themed pyramids: Arid, Temperate, Tropical and Feature. The exhibits in the Feature pyramid change between five and seven times per year.
