Plan a getaway to the first Nordic Spa on Prince Edward Island!
A perfect spot to rejuvenate, rewind and connect with nature, Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort lies on the banks of Saint Peters Bay.
This 18-acre retreat offers an array of spa and relaxation services, such as thermal baths, cold water plunges, essential oil steam rooms, a Finnish sauna, massages, and meditation sessions.
Inspired by a Scandinavian ritual, the Nordic Spa experience involves alternating heat and cold exposure followed by rest.
The Thermal Experience consists of three stations: hot, cold, and rest, each offering various options. The hot options include a thermal bath, Eucalyptus steam bath, Finnish sauna, and barrel sauna, providing benefits such as skin cleansing, decongestion, muscle relaxation, and toxin removal. Spending 10-15 minutes in the hot station is recommended.
The cold station offers a Nordic bath, cold plunge bath, cool shower, and cold plunge, improving immune health and circulation. It’s also suggested to spend 10-15 minutes here.
The rest station offers a wood fireplace, relaxation room, Saint Peters Bay Lookout, and mezzanine meditation, each providing a peaceful and calming environment. The three stations can be repeated 3-4 times until feeling completely revitalized.
Towels and a locker with a smart bracelet are provided during the Mysa experience, which lasts around 2-3 hours.
If you are looking for a getaway, Mysa Nordic Spa & Resort has four cottages with views of the breathtaking Saint Peters Bay and the spa grounds. You can check out their on-site restaurant for some delicious eats or head to Rick’s Fish ‘N’ Chips & Seafood House for some down-to-earth authentic local eats.
Wondering what to do while you are here?
The location is right on the Confederation Trail/Island Walk, and you can walk a section of the trail to either Morell or Greenwich. The 15 km trail from Saint Peters Bay to Morell is considered the most scenic, with shoreline views, a 235-ft bridge over Morell River, Greenwich (Prince Edward Island National Park) view from across the bay, and mussel socks in the bay.
The Greenwich Dunes of PEI National Park are located just 10 km away. Plan a day trip to walk the meandering boardwalk and Greenwich Dunes Trail (4.8 km) between the towering sand dunes of Prince Edward Island’s Gulf Shore. Some of the most beautiful hiking on the island can be found here.
