You soon could be paying more to watch Netflix as the streaming platform is increasing some of its prices again.
According to the new price plan, the basic plan for subscribers remains unchanged at $9.99 a month, but the standard monthly plan is going up by one dollar and fifty cents to $16.49, and the premium by two dollars to $20.99.

The price is effective immediately to new subscribers while existing members will receive an email notification 30 days before their price changes.
Netflix last increased prices in October 2020. At that time, prices increased from $13.99 to $14.99 and $16.99 to $18.99 for the standard plan, and the premium plan respectively.
The price of the basic plan which lets subscribers watch on one screen at a time and one download device via the Netflix app at a lower-quality resolution has remained at $9.99 since November 2018.
The standard plan allows high-definition resolution simultaneous streaming on two screens and downloads to two devices while the premium plan offers downloads to four devices, simultaneous four-screen usage and ultra HD video.
Netflix charged $7.99 for unlimited TV shows and movies per month when it first launched in Canada in September 2010.
