New Brunswick Launches MyHealthNB App For Easier Health Record Access

New Brunswick’s MyHealthNB program, which facilitates online access to health records, has now introduced a mobile application to further streamline this service.

This app, compatible with mobile devices operating on Apple OS 14 or later and Android OS 11 or above, is accessible through both Apple and Google Play app stores.

Launched initially in April 2020 to provide COVID-19 test results, MyHealthNB has since broadened its scope to include a wide array of personal health information like immunization records, laboratory and diagnostic imaging reports, and medication data.

Per the news release, to ensure data security, access to MyHealth Records requires in-person identity verification, previously done during bloodwork at regional health facilities. Now, residents can also obtain a MyHealthNB registration code at local Service New Brunswick branches.

“Providing New Brunswickers with easier access to their health information empowers them to make informed decisions about their health care,” said Health Minister Bruce Fitch in a news release.

“I am proud to see this initiative expanding both access and the information available to citizens, and I am grateful to the regional health authorities, the New Brunswick Medical Society, the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists, the New Brunswick Pharmacists’ Association, the Nurse Practitioners of New Brunswick, and Service New Brunswick, as well as VeroSource Solutions, Jackets Creative, Salesforce and Simeio Solutions for acting as our planning and vendor partners.”

Future updates will be added to bring more health information and related services to both the website and the app.
