New Brunswick has announced that the province is closing all public schools for two weeks with the aim of slowing the rate of COVID-19 spread across Canada.

All schools will be closed from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 27, 2020.

This closure will be reassessed on an ongoing basis.

Early learning and child-care facilities, including those located in schools, are not being closed. The government reminded that all those who have travelled internationally on or after March 9 should avoid early learning and childcare centres for a period of 14 days.

The government also said that the province is restricting large gatherings within Mount Carleton, Mactaquac and Sugarloaf provincial parks and that all planned events at these provincial parks have been suspended until further notice. These three parks will remain open for all other normal outdoor activities.
