The unofficial summer season ends in a week as Labour Day weekend is just around the corner.

New Westminster’s Hyack Festival is seeing the season off right and welcoming autumn with grand fireworks at the Farewell to Summer Fireworks event.
During the day, explore all the amazing performances and vendors you’ll find around Westminster Quay. There will be a live stage where you’ll get to watch some impressive performances and listen to some amazing music.
Entertainers include Liquid Blue, Miss Shauna, Branden Dame, Beauty Shop Dolls, Marlin Ramazzini, and The Coco Project.
You should also look at the vendor market while you’re here. You’ll find work and products of all sorts from local vendors, and buying something from them is a great way to support your local community and get something one-of-a-kind.
The event boasts an array of vendors and exhibitors across multiple categories. For food enthusiasts, offerings range from cookies, baked goods, kettle corn, to global cuisines. Notable food vendors include Bak’d Cookies, Gary’s Kettle Corn, and Market 49.
The general market zone showcases diverse products with vendors like Ollie & Co., Sisay Art Crafts, and Afro Village. There are also exhibitors present, including Launch Rehab and Fraser River Discovery Centre. Pet lovers can visit the Pet Zone, featuring establishments like Kayjay Studios and A Punky Puppy.
Young attendees can enjoy the Kids Zone featuring ISS of BC and Carnival Games.
Of course, the fireworks show will be the real star of this event. Make sure to get here by 9:00 p.m. for the stunning fireworks, which is scheduled to start between 9 pm and 9:30 pm. There will be several viewing locations including Front Street Parkade, Westminster Pier Park, Port Royal Park and Brownsville Bar Park in Surrey.
