Oct. 1: Saskatchewan to Introduce Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination

Premier Scott Moe on Thursday announced Saskatchewan will be making proof of COVID-19 vaccines mandatory or negative COVID-19 tests for accessing certain activities and businesses effective Oct. 1.

 

Saskatchewan is also bringing back the masks policy effective Sept. 17th. Non-medical masks in all indoor public spaces in Saskatchewan at least until late October.

Proof of vaccination is also required for the government of Saskatchewan ministry, crown and agency employees. Employees that do not provide proof of vaccination will be required to provide proof of a negative test result on a consistent basis.

Venues that group of people together like entertainment centres, concert halls, theatres, restaurants, bars, casinos require proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test.

Proof of vaccination/negative test is not required for retail stores, grocery stores, hotels and similar facilities.

 

Announcing the decision, Moe said, “The vast majority of people in Saskatchewan have done the right thing and have grown tired of the reckless decision of the unvaccinated that are now driving our fourth wave.”
