Ontario cider producers will mark the apple harvest with Craft Cider Week, running September 19 to 26. The province-wide celebration will feature exclusive cider releases, entertainment, food pairings, and farm activities as part of the Craft Cider Trail.
Participants can visit cideries across the province for orchard tours, tastings, and live events. Heartwood Farm & Cidery in Erin and West Avenue Cider House in Freelton will offer guided tours, while Vieni Estates in Beamsville will host its Sip & Cider event with live music. Twin Pines in Thedford will celebrate Apple-Fest with cider, wood-fired pizza, and donuts.
Food pairings are planned at several stops, including food trucks at Heeman’s in London and Texas-style barbecue at Woodfolk in Coldwater. Other experiences include ziplining at Great Lakes Farms in Port Stanley, corn mazes at Applewood Farm in Seagrave, and cranberry bog wagon rides at Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery in Bala.
Visitors can also pick their own apples and sample cider at Brantview in St. George, Archibald’s Estate Winery in Bowmanville, and other farms. Loch Mór in Prince Edward County will feature artisan pairings, while Ironwood in Niagara-on-the-Lake will combine cider with art exhibits.
Alongside cider, many farms will sell pies, jams, and other seasonal products. The OCCA advises checking operating hours, reservations, fees, and availability before attending.
The Ontario Craft Cider Association (OCCA) organizes the event, which is supported by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness through the Drink ON Apples program. The initiative highlights cider made entirely from Ontario-grown apples and helps consumers identify local products.
