Ontario’s Grey County stretches from the Georgian Bay shores in the north to Mt. Forest and Durham in the south.
This lower section of the Bruce Peninsula provides great recreation, views, and scenery, from Lake Huron to the Niagara Escarpment, and remains a relatively rural part of southern Ontario. Grey County has it all in terms of scenery, with the Huron shores, rivers, forests, cliffs, and waterfalls.
Following the waterfalls of Grey County is one of the best ways to tour the county. This road trip will bring you across nearly the entire county and includes a wide variety of waterfall types, heights, widths, and power. Below is a north-to-south tour suggestion for starting your trip in Owen Sound, which covers almost 130km (see map at the end).

Jones Falls
The Jones Falls are within the Jones Falls & Pottawatomi Conservation Area, a gorgeous hiking area along the Niagara Escarpment. While there is a great deal of hiking to be had in the park, Jones Falls is a short hike from the main parking lot. The Jones Falls trickle down the escarpment as part of the Pottawatomi River, which the additional trails continue to follow.

Weavers Creek Falls
Access to the Weavers Creek Falls trail and lookout boardwalk is in Owen Sound’s Harrison Park, on the south side of town. The waterfall creates an interesting flow of water down Weavers Creek as it cascades down a series of rock steps on one side and forms a curtain on the other side. Weavers Creek Falls are accessible from the Bruce Trail.

Inglis Falls
There are close to 7.5km of trails to explore in the Inglis Falls Conservation Area, plus an 18m high waterfall on the Sydenham River. The heavy flow of the river rushes over the edge of the Niagara Escarpment before winding past town and emptying into the harbour. Views of Inglis Falls are easy to access beside the parking lot and along the Hub Trail. The park is also accessible from the Bruce Trail.

Hoggs Falls
The lesser-known and comparatively shorter Hoggs Falls in Grey County are also some of the easiest to access. And on the other side of the Boyne River is access to the Bruce Trail.

Eugenia Falls
These incredible 30m high waterfalls in Grey County and on the Niagara Escarpment include a beautiful walk for access to the views. The park is also home to a Soldiers War Cenotaph and Memorial located on the trail.
