The B.C. General Aviation Association is planning a tribute flyover dubbed Operation Backup Inspiration across the Lower Mainland in honour of Captain Jenn Casey and the Snowbirds.

Captain Jenn Casey was killed in the crash of a Snowbirds aerobatic team jet in a residential area of Kamloops, B.C., while on a cross-country tour meant to impart hope during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The B.C. General Aviation Association says 35 Airplanes will depart Abbotsford and fly across the Lower Mainland.

The statement released says, “These aircraft will not be in any tight formation as we leave that kind of flying to the professionals. Once the first aircraft passes there will be a line of aircraft that will last approximately 14 minutes.”

The association is requesting viewers to observe a moment of silence as the group flies over.

The association will depart from Abbotsford on May 18th in the evening by around 6:30 p.m. and will fly over Langley, White Rock, Surrey, Burnaby and Vancouver following the flight path above.
