Until June 18, get ready for ten action-packed days of festivities, extended programming, and new and spectacular events. This year’s Ottawa Italian Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever before!

The excitement kicks off on June 9 with the Opening Weekend on Preston Street. Prepare yourself for a weekend filled with non-stop entertainment, mouthwatering food, and an immersion into Italian culture that will leave you wanting more.

The Main Stage events will be held at 301 Preston Street, while the Kids Zone can be found at Preston and Adeline. On Friday, June 9, get ready to dance in the aisles as The Jivewires, Ottawa’s premier “Jump Blues” band, take the stage. They’ll be bringing their high-energy sound and performing music from the legendary Louis Prima and others.

Also on Friday, don’t miss the talented young dancers of Fonte d’Amore as they present the traditional Tarantella dance from southern Italy. And if you’re in the mood for laughter, Joe Cacchione, a comedian with a knack for connecting with audiences of all ages, will have you rolling in the aisles.

The festivities continue on Saturday, June 10, with a soccer tournament at the Adult High School Soccer Field. Experience the passion of Italy’s national pastime and cheer on the teams as they compete for glory. Later in the day, join Rossano Giamberardino at the Main Stage for some traditional Italian folk music, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of the accordion.

For the young ones, the Kids Zone will be the place to be throughout the weekend. With rides, games, face-painting, storytelling, and arts and crafts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

On Sunday, June 11, join the celebration of St. Anthony at St. Anthony’s Church. Experience an open-air mass followed by a traditional procession through Little Italy. The soccer tournament will also continue, providing more thrilling matches for all the sports enthusiasts.

As the festival draws to a close, make sure to mark your calendars for the exciting events on June 17 and 18. On June 17, head to EV Tremblay Park for the Picnic all’Italiana. Indulge in delicious Italian treats while enjoying a true cultural experience in the form of an al fresco dining extravaganza. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, savor the flavors of Italy, and soak up the warm weather.

And on June 18, gear up for the adrenaline-pumping Bike Race Ottawa on Preston Street. Watch as cyclists of all ages and skill levels compete in thrilling races that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you’re a fan of cycling or simply love exciting sporting events, this is a must-see.

To wrap up the festival, don’t miss the Mercato di Preston Street on June 18. Inspired by the street markets of Rome and Florence, this open-air market will feature local Ottawa artisans showcasing their incredible creations. From handmade soaps to cutting boards and candles, you’ll find a wide variety of unique and beautiful products.

Ferrari Festival

During the opening weekend, the Ferrari Club of America Ottawa Chapter, along with over 200,000 spectators and visitors, will come together for a grand celebration of Ferraris and Italian culture. As the highlight of Italian Week, this festival transforms Ottawa’s Corso Italia into a magnificent 1.3 km showcase of rare automobiles, delectable dining options, and fun activities for the whole family. The three-day event includes exciting attractions such as the Concours d’Elegance featuring top-notch Ferraris, static car displays featuring more than 50 rare Italian and exotic sports cars, an Italian Car Parade, a Demo Zone, a Festival and Concours Awards Dinner, a Charity Ferrari Dream Ride, and a Sunday Luncheon where attendees can enjoy a special meal and a final glimpse of the Ferraris.

So get ready to be swept away by the magic of the Ottawa Italian Festival. With its vibrant atmosphere, tantalizing cuisine, and captivating performances, it’s an event that promises to create lasting memories. Grab your friends and family, and join in the celebration of Italian culture, because this is one festival you won’t want to miss!
