There is something special about heading to a pumpkin patch with friends or family, walking through the fields and searching for just the right pumpkin to take home. Whether you want to carve a jack-o’-lantern, explore a corn maze or spend an afternoon at a farm, Ottawa and the surrounding countryside have plenty of places to enjoy the season.

Proulx Farm
Proulx Farm goes all out for pumpkin season! Its annual PumpkinFest transforms the farm into a lively fall destination with pumpkin picking and seasonal family activities.
The farm also hosts sKreamers, a separate Halloween attraction for visitors looking for something scarier. There are snacks available on the farm and free parking.
Dates & Hours: September 19 to October 31, 2026. PumpkinFest weekends, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last entry 4 p.m.). Selected weekdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (last entry 2 p.m.). Open Thanksgiving Monday, October 12.
Admission: Weekend admission $25.10 per person. Selected weekday admission $9.75 per person. Children aged 2 and under free on weekends; weekday admission rules differ for young children.

Ottawa Tree Farm (Fallowfield)
Don’t let the farm’s name throw you off. There are plenty of pumpkins at Ottawa Tree Farm! Pick a pumpkin to take home and enjoy a traditional fall outing with wagon rides, pony rides, bouncy castles, farm animals and bonfires.
The working farm also sells pumpkins, gourds, hay bales and other seasonal decorations. Admission to the pumpkin patch is free, so you can visit even if you are not planning to take part in the paid activities.
Hours: Daily, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wagon rides are offered on fall weekends.
Admission: Free pumpkin patch admission. Wagon rides $5 per child, pony rides $5 per child and bouncy castles $5 per child. Pumpkins extra.

Saunders Farm
Fall is one of the best times to visit Saunders Farm. The 100-acre property in Munster celebrates the season with its popular Haunting Season, including daytime PumpkinFest activities and nighttime FrightFest experiences.
Families can enjoy the farm’s fall attractions during PumpkinFest, while those looking for Halloween thrills can choose a FrightFest evening. Saunders Farm is located approximately 30 minutes from central Ottawa.

Millers Berry Farm
With more than eight acres of pick-your-own pumpkins, Millers Farm & Market offers plenty of choice for families searching for the perfect pumpkin. Visitors can head into the patch, explore the corn maze and enjoy a tractor-drawn wagon ride.
The Market Shed is also worth exploring. You’ll find locally grown produce, pumpkins, gourds, seasonal decorations, fresh baked treats, pies, jams, jellies, honey and farm-fresh eggs.
Hours: Pumpkin picking September 19 to October 31, 2026. Farm Market daily, including holidays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wagon rides daily October 2 to 31, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Admission: Free admission to the farm and market. $6 wristband per person for wagon ride to and from the pumpkin patch and access to the corn maze. Children under 1 free. Pumpkins purchased separately.

Cannamore Orchard
Welcoming visitors since 1982, Cannamore Orchard is a popular destination for fall outings east of Ottawa. Visitors can pick seasonal apples and pumpkins, browse the orchard store and take part in the farm’s Family Activity Weekends.
The activities include covered wagon rides, hedge mazes, a cow train, pedal cars and a family activity area. The orchard store also offers seasonal produce, cider, pies, fudge and pre-picked pumpkins.
For those seeking a scare, Cannamore Orchard also operates Acres of Terror, a separate Halloween experience.
Dates & Hours: Family Activity Weekends September 5 to October 12, 2026, including Thanksgiving Monday. Activities generally operate 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with bracelet sales ending at 3 p.m. Orchard hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission: $16.50 per person, HST included, for Family Activity Weekends. Children aged 3 and under free. Pick-your-own produce purchased separately. Acres of Terror requires separate tickets.

Abby Hill Farms
Looking for a pumpkin to turn into a jack-o’-lantern? Stop by Abby Hill Farms in south Ottawa to browse pumpkins, squash, apples and other seasonal produce.
The farm also has a selection of autumn decorations and vegetables, making it a convenient stop for anyone preparing for Thanksgiving or Halloween.

Admission: No separate admission charge. Pumpkins and produce priced by purchase.

Lighted Pumpkin Displays
Upper Canada Village
Not exactly a traditional pumpkin patch, but PumpkInferno and other illuminated pumpkin displays deserve a place on your fall outing list.
At Upper Canada Village, thousands of handcrafted pumpkins are transformed into illuminated sculptures and imaginative displays along the streets and pathways of the historic village.
New exhibits are added each year, giving returning visitors something different to discover. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
Dates & Hours: Select nights October 2 to 31, 2026. October 2–12 performances generally begin at 7 p.m.; later dates begin at 6:30 p.m. Final entry 9 to 9:30 p.m.; event closes at 10:30 p.m. Accessibility Nights: October 6, 14 and 21.
Admission: Adults ages 19–64 $23 plus HST; seniors 65+ $22 plus HST; students ages 13–18 and children ages 5–12 $21 plus HST; children ages 0–4 free. Miniature train $8 plus HST for ages 5+.
