Sunnybrook Hospital has discharged the patient who was hospitalized on Thursday, January 23, 2020 with novel coronavirus. When admitted, he had fever and respiratory symptoms associated with the virus.
Sunnybrook Hospital confirmed that his status has improved to the point where he no longer requires in-patient care.
The hospital, with the help of Toronto Health will continue to monitor the patient in his home while he remains in isolation at home.
Ontario currently has two confirmed cases of the virus, the other being the wife of this man. There are currently 27 cases under investigation.
In Canada, there are 3 confirmed cases with the other being in British Columbia.
Yesterday, World Health Organisation declared Global Health Emergency due to Wuhan novel coronavirus outbreak.
