The minimum wage will be increasing in some provinces and territories on April 1, 2024
The minimum wage is the lowest hourly wage that employers must pay to employees, and it varies across Canada.
Starting April 1, 2024, the federal minimum wage in Canada will increase from $16.65 to $17.30 per hour. This increase is in response to the increase in the Consumer Price Index in 2023.
The federal minimum wage applies to workers and interns in federally regulated private sectors, including banks, postal and courier services, and interprovincial air, rail, road, and marine transportation.
As of April 1, 2024, federally regulated private-sector employers are required to ensure that their workers and interns are paid correctly. If the provincial or territorial minimum wage rate is higher than the federal minimum wage, employers must apply the higher rate.

I know BC needs to be looked at two for seniors and the amount of money we get every month is not enough to keep up with today’s cost. Between gas and food travel fairies. Everything is way more up there and we would like a raise as well in BC thank you
What about Albertans. Especially no one seems to care about hotel and restaurant industry and especially the cooks who go through such a hardship of everyday cooking, bruising, cuts, burns and others.
