Calgary 
Pumphouse Park is open again, giving Calgarians a refreshed riverside space to walk, cycle, gather, and spend time near the Bow River.

The City of Calgary has completed construction on the $3.6 million project, which updated the park beside the historic Pumphouse Theatre, on the south side of the Bow River east of the Crowchild Trail bridge.
The park also carries a piece of Calgary’s early infrastructure history. It sits beside the historic Calgary waterworks pumphouse, which helped supply water to the growing city in the early 1900s. Over time, the surrounding land became a public riverside space while keeping that industrial history close by.
Work on the site included better pathway connections, new picnic areas, barbecues, permanent fire pits with moveable furniture, more seating, additional trees and plantings, permanent bike racks, expanded parking, and new water and electrical servicing for future events. The parking upgrades include an asphalt lot with 15 new spaces and additional gravel stalls.
The project followed public engagement in summer 2021 and fall 2022. Construction began in spring 2025 and was completed in spring 2026.
