This summer, rock icon Billy Idol is set to captivate audiences across Canada with the Rebel Yell Canada 2024 Tour, marking the 40th anniversary of his seminal album, “Rebel Yell.”
The tour, kicking off on July 30 in Vancouver and wrapping up on August 25 in St. John’s, Newfoundland, is being produced by Live Nation Canada. Idol plans to perform a wide array of his career-spanning hits, with a special emphasis on the “Rebel Yell” album.
Steve Stevens, Idol’s longtime guitarist and collaborator, will join him on stage, alongside Canadian Walk Of Fame inductees Platinum Blonde, who will feature as special guests throughout the tour.
In celebration of the anniversary, a deluxe expanded edition of “Rebel Yell” will be released on April 26 via Capitol/UMe, featuring unreleased tracks and demos, including a demo version of “Flesh For Fantasy” and a previously unheard track titled “Best Way Out of Here,” showcasing Idol and Stevens’ collaborative genius. Additionally, Idol has revealed a cover of Rose Royce’s “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore,” recorded during the original album sessions.
Beyond the tour, Idol has made recent headlines with the release of “Billy Idol: State Line,” a concert film documenting his historic performance at Hoover Dam, available on DVD and Blu-ray.
The film captures Idol’s enduring legacy and his contributions to rock music over nearly five decades, including his pioneering work with Generation X and a successful solo career that continues to thrive.
