Alberta has updated its Restrictions Exemption Program guidelines to allow ski hills to operate outdoor areas without implementing REP requirements starting Nov. 29.

Edmonton Ski Club
Restrictions Exemption Program requires some Alberta businesses to check patrons for government-issued proof of vaccination or a recent negative privately purchased COVID-19 test in order to operate without restrictions.
Ski hill operators can opt to implement the REP for indoor areas to permit indoor dining and other indoor activities.
If participating in the REP, they are not required to adhere to physical distancing requirements for enclosed chairlifts and gondolas.
Masking is required for all enclosed areas.
Paid-entry markets and trade shows, including artisan and craft fairs and holiday markets, can also participate in REP.
Announcing the update to REP guidelines, Minister of Health Jason Copping said, “These changes maintain the intent of the REP – to keep Albertans safe – while reflecting what we’ve heard for businesses and venues to operate effectively. We continue to follow the evidence and update the guidance so the program can reduce the spread of COVID-19 in ways that make sense for Albertans.”
