Have you always wanted to go on a Great Lakes Cruise? Now you can! Viking Cruises has announced Cruises on the Great Lakes between Canada and the United States.

Though, there are luxury cruises from Quebec City to Kingston and on the Trent-Severn Waterway, and the ferry, MS Chi-Cheemaun that will get you from Tobermory to Manitoulin Island, there are no luxury cruises currently on the Great Lakes that spans Canada and the United States.

As part of 2022 Cruises and Expedition line, Viking is offering four different cruises that will take you on a fantastic voyage along Great Lakes:

  • Undiscovered Great Lakes – 8 days Cruise from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Great Lakes Explorer – 8 days Cruise from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Thunder Bay, Ontario
  • Niagara & The Great Lakes – 8 days Cruise from Toronto, Ontario to Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Canadian Discovery – 13 days Cruise from New York City, New York to Toronto, Ontario

In addition to cruise activities, you may be able to listen to lectures and talks by Scientists from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Viking has partnered with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), whose scientists will join expeditions in the Great Lakes to conduct research focused on changes in the region’s weather, climate and ecosystems.

Ships for the cruise, Viking Polaris are optimally sized – small enough to navigate remote polar regions and the St. Lawrence River, are currently under construction and will be delivered in Norway by Fincantieri’s VARD. The new Polar Class 6 Viking Polaris will host 378 guests in 189 staterooms.
