Baby names can quietly reflect trends, and in Saskatchewan, some familiar favourites are still holding strong.
According to eHealth Saskatchewan, Noah and Olivia were the most popular baby names in 2025. Noah led the list for boys with 49 babies given the name, while Olivia topped the girls’ list with 43.
There was some movement behind those top spots. Jack followed closely in second place for boys with 48, while a three-way tie for third included Muhammad, Oliver and William, each with 44. Muhammad’s rise stands out, jumping from 20th place in 2023 to now sharing third. Hudson and Theodore continue to gain traction, and Weston entered the list for the first time at 13th. Grayson also returned after a few years off. Meanwhile, last year’s top name, Henry, dropped to 11th.
On the girls’ side, Olivia reclaimed the top position from Sophia, continuing a pattern where it has ranked first in nine of the past 10 years. The biggest shift came from Lainey, which climbed from 20th place last year to tie for second with Nora at 37 each. Amelia, Evelyn and Sophia rounded out the top tier.
Several names continue to show steady popularity, including Emma, Charlotte, Ellie and Lily.
