The Saskatoon EX, Saskatchewan’s largest summer event, is returning to Prairieland Park from July 31 to August 7, 2025.

Crash ‘N Bash Demo Derby
Featuring indoor and outdoor entertainment that caters to all ages, the Saskatoon Ex will bring back crowd-favourite rides, amazing concerts, vendors, treats, and shows.
What’s new this year:
To mark its 140th anniversary, the Saskatoon EX will feature a new nightly event, the Light the Night Drone & Fireworks Show. Taking place at 11:00 p.m. daily, the display will combine fireworks and drone choreography over the fairgrounds.

Musical Entertainment:
One of the highlights of the fair is the nightly music series at the SaskTel Grandstand. Concerts begin at 8:30 p.m., with gates opening at 7:00 p.m. This year’s musical lineup includes performances by Metric, High Valley, Loverboy, and TLC. Loverboy will perform on August 2, and The Sheepdogs with Wide Mouth Mason will close the series on August 7. The annual Crash ‘N Bash Demolition Derby will take place on August 3 in the same venue.

Just across from the grandstand is the Kickin’ Horse Saloon, a licensed venue for those 19 and older. Opening at noon daily, with liquor service starting at 1:00 PM, the Saloon hosts local and touring performers in the evening, typically around 10:30 PM. Featured acts include Steven Page, The Road Hammers, Lee Aaron, Danko Jones, Sass Jordan, and Bif Naked. Daytime performances (3:00, 4:30, and 6:00 PM) will have Harreson James Band, Tycke Brothers, Darryl Anderson, and Adam Johnson performing.

Midway:
The Midway and Kidsville provide ride options suitable for all thrill levels. Kidsville features age-appropriate rides for younger guests, while the Wobbly Water Balls offer an additional pay-as-you-go attraction. FunTagg wristbands can be used to purchase ride units.
For Kids:
The Saskatoon EX offers a range of activities specifically for young visitors, including Kidsville Midway. Children aged six and under receive free admission to the fair. Pony rides are available in Kidsville for $7, though they are not covered by ride wristbands or coupons. A petting zoo is also located in the same area, where children can pet barnyard animals.
The Circle K Safe Kids Program provides free wristbands to help reunite lost children with their guardians. Wristbands are available at admission entrances and designated kiosks and should include a contact number.
Things to Do This August in Saskatchewan
A major attraction for families is the Co-op Family Fun Zone in Hall E. Here, visitors can enjoy various fun events:
- SuperDogs – Wild Wild Woof will perform daily at 2:00, 4:00, and 6:00 PM. Bonus evening shows will occur on August 2, 3, and 4.
- Gabby’s Dollhouse Meet & Greet will occur at 1:30 and 5:30 PM. This will be followed by a Cat-Tastic Dance Party at 7:00 PM.
- PAW Patrol appearances will feature Chase and Skye at 12:30, 4:45, and 8:00 PM.
- Poppy’s Dance Party from Trolls will be held daily at 3:00 PM.
- A Mascot Parade on August 6 at 3:30 PM, led by Doo Doo the Clown and featuring Skamper the Squirrel.
Other Entertainments:
The SaskMilk Ag-Venture Pavilion offers interactive experiences centred on agriculture and food production. “Fair Game” is a live trivia contest held daily at 2:00, 4:30, and 5:30 p.m., where players compete using their phones to answer ag-related questions. Stock dog trainer Jared Epp demonstrates sheep herding with trained dogs at 2:30 and 5:00 p.m. each day. From August 3 to 5, visitors can try milking “Gert,” an interactive cow exhibit open from 12:00 to 6:30 p.m.
The exhibit shows both traditional and modern dairy methods. “Kids at the Barn,” running August 5 to 7, invites children to engage in 4-H-inspired activities focused on farming and science. These include hands-on crafts, games, and learning opportunities.
The Saskatoon EX has partnered with Pop Con YXE to offer tabletop gaming, presented by Dragon’s Den Games. Visitors can join casual and beginner-friendly game sessions, learn new games, and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

Market Square will feature vendors offering locally made and international products. It’s a space for shopping, browsing, and discovering unique goods.
For those interested in creative arts and history, the Saskatchewan Art Showcase in Hall A presents a diverse collection of works and artifacts. Visitors can explore over 100-year-old quilts, Hudson’s Bay Company relics, Indigenous beadwork from the Todd Fontaine Collection, and fossil exhibits by the Dino-Hunters. There will also be live demonstrations in traditional skills such as quilting, knitting, spinning, felting, and painting, finger weaving, woodburning, bobbin lace, and fly tying.
Indoor entertainment will be held daily at Prairieland’s Hall C Show Stage and is free with general admission. Hypnotist TerranceB brings a comedic twist to mind control, performing daily at 3:30, 6:15, and 8:45 p.m. Dogs Do Magic, hosted by magician Aaron Matthews, features illusions and talented stunt dogs, with shows at 5:00 and 7:45 p.m.
Outdoor entertainment will be scattered across the Midway, with street performers and daily shows. Acts include the Flying Fools High Dive Show, Steve Goodtime & The Fellowship of the Goodtime, and the Crawdaddios. The Mardi Gras Parade will take place each evening at 6:00 PM.
Fair Food:
Food continues to be a key part of the Saskatoon EX experience, and this year, fairgoers can enjoy a mix of new items and returning favourites. New highlights include the Fruity Pebble Corndog, chocolate-dipped Waffle Pops, and the Seattle Dog topped with cheese, sauerkraut, and jalapeños.

The Japanese Waffle Burger and Cowboy Candy Mango Soft Serve will have bold flavour combinations, while Kona Ice lets guests build custom flavor combinations. If you are looking for something unique, the Japanese Waffle Burger and sweet-meets-savoury Poutail are must-haves. Don’t miss fan favourites like hand-rolled Spudnuts and freshly baked Doukhobor Bread, an EX tradition since 1972.
Admission and Parking:
All shows and concerts are included with general admission. 2-day admission is priced at $37.06. One-day admission ticket costs $13.06 to $21.06, with Children 6 and under free. For thrill-seekers, there is no better deal than a Ride-All-Day Wristband, which includes all midway rides and gate admission. Visit on theme days to enjoy special discounts and deals.
The streets will be busy, so do plan to avoid delays. Saskatoon Transit will be offering free rides to and from Prairieland Park on regular Transit routes to all Superpass holders. Children 10 and under can ride the bus for free on Wednesday, August 7, while older adults, aged 65+, can get free rides on both Thursdays on all regular bus routes.
To avoid heavy traffic areas, use the St. Henry Avenue Entrance to access the main parking lot (parking fee $12, cash or card). Cars with 5 or more people will be admitted free based on site availability. You can also make use of free parking at Diefenbaker Park. Free parking lot shuttle will run from Prairieland’s parking lots to admission entrance #6 from 1 pm to midnight.
From live concerts and agriculture showcases to interactive exhibits and family-focused programming, Saskatoon EX 2025 offers a wide-ranging and inclusive fair experience. With something happening every hour across the grounds, it remains a cornerstone event for summer in Saskatchewan.

Had a great fun. Kids are enjoy the whole days, we also experienced most of the thrilling and shows. Though we missed The Canine Circus; however, iFlip Ultimate Aerial show was awesome.
