Theatre in the Park – Breathe
Theatre in the Park enters its 13th season with Breathe! Plan a trip to Rowan’s Ravine
The sun is out and it’s a perfect day to be outside. And if there is water – that’s almost paradise. Grab your little ones and drive to one of the biggest natural beaches in southern Saskatchewan – the Rowan’s Ravine for summer fun time. Around 1 h drive from Regina.
Tour the Frenchman River Valley
See stunning landscapes, rare wildlife, and rich history on an ecotour scenic drive. This is a 20 km self-guided driving tour through the Frenchman River Valley in the Grassland National Park’s West Block.

Explore Condie Nature Refuge
If you go 14 km northwest of Regina, off the Highway 11 at Exit A, you will reach a popular destination for school outings – the Condie Nature Refuge. Enjoy a drive to this prairie gem on a warm summer day. The refuge shelters many plant and animal species including waterfowl, hare, fox. Can you catch sight of the beaver dam? Hikers can go along 4 km of nature trails or spend some time in the rock garden and explore the Condie reservoir.

Go to Doukhobor Dugout House
If you are up for a road trip head over to Doukhobor Dugout House. Learn the story of Russian Doukhobor settlers who fled their homeland and settled in the Blaine Lake area of Saskatchewan.
Skate time!
Free public skate is open at the Cooperators Centre.
Explore the Batoche NHS
Journey to a time when the Metis settled on the banks of Saskatchewan River. Learn the history of the final battle of Northwest Resistance of 1885 between the Metis provincial government and the Canadian government. There are several walking trails to enjoy including the popular Li pchi shmayn walking trail. Look out for red chairs at the Batoche! From July to August you can use the Ride the Batoche shuttle to explore from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Shuttle tours can be booked in advance. Around 3.5 h drive from Regina.
Visit a Science Park
Why not head to the Ukrainian Science Park today? The popular playground located on the southwest side of the Saskatchewan Science Centre is open!
Explore the Louis Riel Trail
Renamed Louis Riel Trail, Saskatchewan’s Hwy 11 is a 364-km long trail running from the Qu’Appelle Valley in southern Saskatchewan to south of Prince Albert in northern Saskatchewan. Named in honour of Métis leader, Louis Riel who led the 1885 uprising, the trail has many beautiful outdoor sculptures that point to its historic event and several stops that are historically significant.

Celebrate the vibrant spirit of summer in downtown Regina, as Pat Fiacco Plaza and Victoria Park come alive with free programming and events catering to all ages.
Hike the Echo Valley Provincial Park
If you are a beginner hiker, check out the nature trail at Echo Valley Provincial Park. The hike will take you along the ridge of the Qu’Appelle Valley.

The park offers a number of activities for a multi-day adventure including wildlife viewing, hiking, fishing, canoeing as well as mountain biking.

Your kids are going to love this trip! In Saskatchewan’s Big Muddy Valley lie the Big Muddy Outlaw Caves – once the hideouts of bandits. If you listen carefully, you can still hear the echoes from the past. The Badland tours by the Avonlea Museum will take you to various kinds of badland landforms. Around a 2.5 h drive from Regina.
Hike the Nicolle Flats Nature Area
Drive outside of Regina and into the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley. At the Nicolle Flats Nature Area is an 8 km loop will take you around the marshland of the valley. Combine this with the Dyke Trails, and you have an amazing hiking adventure.

A Trip to Grasslands National Park
Plan a weekend getaway to Grasslands National Park. The Grasslands National Park Dark Sky Preserve is one of the largest and darkest in Canada! It is an excellent place to stargaze and to enjoy the beauty of the night sky. For astronomers, this is one of the best places to observe deep-sky objects. On the way, see the Val Marie Grain Elevator, one of the few left in Saskatchewan.

Step into a time machine and be whisked back in time to the early 20th-century industrial era in Canada at Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site. You are at North America’s best preserved brick-making site – a site that has remained unchanged from the day it opened in 1914. This is the place that supplied the fire bricks that lined the fire boxes of the Corvette warships in World War II. Around a 1 h drive from Downtown Regina. The opening dates are yet to be announced.
