The Stampede Parade, presented by Suncor, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 4.
Twain, a five-time Grammy Award winner, has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, making her the best-selling female artist in country-pop history. She is also set to perform at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, July 5, as part of the Stampede Concert Series.
In a statement, Twain said, “The Calgary Stampede is an amazing celebration of Western heritage and culture and embodies the true spirit of Calgarians and Canadians.” She last appeared at the Stampede in 2014.
Calgary Stampede President and Board Chair Stuart O’Connor called Twain a fitting choice. “As a Canadian icon who has captivated audiences worldwide, Shania embodies the grit, passion and celebration that defines the Stampede,” he said.
