Banff Sunshine is planning to participate in the province’s Restriction Exemption Program which enables them to operate the resort without restrictions.

The resort through a social media post announced that vaccines will be mandatory for all staff members and said, “To comply with the province’s exemption program to access our slopes this winter, we will ask all guests to submit either a proof of vaccination, a negative PCR covid test no older than 72 hours, or a valid medical exemption. Our IT team is currently working on a system to streamline the process of uploading your necessary documentation.”

The famous Banff resort which boasts of the longest skiing season on the Rockies explained the decision stating, “At present, by opting into the province’s restrictions exemption program we’ll be able to operate our gondola, chairlifts, lodges, & sprung structures at full capacity.”

The skiing season at Banff Sunshine starts in early November and continues well after Mother’s Day in May.

Sunshine Village did not operate their summer sightseeing gondola (Sunshine Meadows) for the past two seasons due to COVID-19.
