Heralded as the top 15 ‘spring sights’ worldwide, the spring season at The Butchart Gardens welcomes a vibrant spectacle of floral beauty and activity, marking the end of the long wait for the season’s arrival.

The Gardens come alive with over 300,000 flowering bulbs, including tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths, which begin to show their colours from early March through late May.

The peak of the Spring Garden is typically observed from the start of April to the first week of May, with specific blooms like the blue poppy drawing attention from mid-May to mid-June. Among the favourites are the rhododendron, tulip, daffodil, ornamental cherry, magnolia, and peony, showcasing the Gardens’ diverse botanical collection.

The Gardens also feature a variety of magnolia, cherry, plum, and crabapple trees, along with other bulb species that add depth to the spring display.

This year, too, Butchart Gardens will host annual events, including the Easter Bunny Hunt from April 3 to 6 and Mother’s Day celebrations with live music and dining options.
