What to Expect at 2024 Edition of Stratford Winterfest This Weekend

Stratford Winterfest is just around the corner, promising an array of weather-dependent events, live entertainment, and offsite activities for visitors of all ages.

Kicking off the festival on Friday, January 26, is the Yuk Yuks Comedy Dinner & Show at the Best Western Plus The Arden Park Hotel. A delectable dinner buffet awaits at 7 pm, followed by a 9 pm comedy show (for ages 19 and above). For those looking for card games, the Chartwell Retirement Residence presents Winterfest Pepper, a euchre-based card game event at the Stratford Agriplex from 12:30 pm to 4 pm.

For kids looking to showcase their artistic talents, there is a Winterfest Colouring Contest. Participants have a chance to win delicious prizes from Chocolate Barr’s Candies. Colouring pages can be obtained at CJCS/2day FM on Romeo St. South. Completed entries must be dropped off by Friday, January 26, at the radio station or at the event on Saturday, January 27, at Upper Queen’s Park.

Saturday, January 27, is packed with excitement, featuring Birds of Prey presentations by the Canadian Raptor Conservancy, The FireGuy Show, and mesmerizing ice sculptures. You can also enjoy activities such as alpaca encounters, big truck displays, blacksmith demonstrations, snowman strolls, and much more.

Food enthusiasts will delight in the variety of offerings from vendors like Features of Stratford, Bru Garden Barbie Truck, Tim Hortons, Bake My Day & the Bean Butter Tart Bakery & Cafe, and Crazee Kernels, offering everything from smoked brisket to butter tarts and kettle corn.

Wrap up your Winterfest experience on Sunday, January 28, with a free skate at the Dufferin Arena, sponsored by Winterfest. Please note that due to space limitations, only a maximum of 170 people will be permitted.
