This innovative spa circuit features six uniquely themed caves, each offering a distinct environment and targeted therapies designed to rejuvenate the mind and body.

According to the news release, this new addition, which opened on December 20, is designed to provide a multi-sensory journey through six distinct environments, each offering targeted wellness benefits.

What to Expect

 

During the Healing Caves experience, the guests move through a sequence of six rooms—Desert, Mystic, Ice, Astral, Salt, and Storm Caves—each featuring specialized treatments such as infrared and hot stone sauna, aromatherapy steam, cryotherapy, red-light therapy, halotherapy, and immersive hydrotherapy. The caves are designed to engage all the senses and provide targeted health benefits such as stress relief, improved circulation, enhanced sleep, and reduced inflammation.

    • Desert Cave: Infrared and hot stone saunas provide thermotherapy, promoting circulation and detoxification while offering visual landscapes of desert scenes.
    • Mystic Cave: Aromatherapy paired with jungle-inspired steam rejuvenates skin, enhances breathing, and uplifts mood.
    • Ice Cave: Cryotherapy with glacial air, reducing inflammation and improving sleep.
    • Astral Cave: Red-light therapy boosts skin rejuvenation and circulation while guests gaze at celestial visuals.
    • Salt Cave: Halogenerators diffuse micro-particles of salt to soothe the respiratory system and benefit skin conditions.
    • Storm Cave: A mineral-rich infinity pool simulates ocean storms with cascading rain, wind effects, and thunder-light visuals for detoxification and relaxation.

The caves are engineered to create temperatures from 14°F to 180°F, exposing guests to environments reminiscent of desert heat, rainforest humidity, and glacial air. High-definition screens measuring 335 square feet display breathtaking natural landscapes and animations, including views of the Kingfisher Tower in Utah and British Columbia’s mountain peaks. An Electrolyte Bar is also provided to help with rehydration and immune support, offering nutrients such as vitamin C, magnesium, and zinc.

 
  • Guests can choose between a 75-minute guided experience or extend their time up to 90 minutes in the relaxation lounge.
  • Features a temperature range from 14°F to 180°F, mimicking natural climates like desert dryness and glacial air.
  • Ends with a celebratory flûte of sparkling wine or a non-alcoholic alternative.
  • Electrolyte Bar offers immune-boosting drinks with antioxidants like vitamin C, magnesium, and zinc.

Located on Vancouver Island’s eastern shore in Courtenay, Kingfisher boasts 65 boutique rooms, including beachfront suites and penthouses.

The Healing Caves circuit lasts at least 75 minutes, with an option to extend the experience to 90 minutes in a dedicated relaxation lounge. Guests move through a sequence of six rooms—Desert, Mystic, Ice, Astral, Salt, and Storm Caves—each featuring specialized treatments such as infrared and hot stone sauna, aromatherapy steam, cryotherapy, red-light therapy, halotherapy, and immersive hydrotherapy.

The Healing Caves are available year-round alongside the resort’s long-standing Hydropath, a hydrotherapy experience in place for 25 years. Healing Caves is open to both overnight guests and day visitors.
