Plan a trip to the top of a Greater Toronto Area ski hill to enjoy fall colours from a different perspective.
During October, you can ride the chairlifts of the ski and snowboard hill, Glen Eden, to experience the spectacular Niagara Escarpment from up above.
Glen Eden is located in Kelso Conservation Area in Milton which is famous for summer activities like hiking (29 km of marked trails along the Niagara Escarpment), mountain biking and boating on the man-made lake.
Chairlift rides are available during weekends in October starting September 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last ride at 5 p.m. The tickets for the ride costs $8 for a round trip. This is in addition to the park admission fee of $7.25 to $10.50.
If you are planning to visit with kids, riders need to be at least 2’5″ tall to ride accompanied by an adult or 3’5″ tall to ride the chair alone.
Pets and bikes are not allowed on the ride.
So plan a fall day trip, pack a picnic, ride the chairlift and hike the Escarpment trail to experience spectacular fall colours from various lookouts.
Kelso Conservation Area is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
