Ready to say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024 in style, Toronto-style? Get set for a blast of fun on the downtown waterfront at three hotspots.
This grand New Year’s Eve bash by the city of Toronto will feature dazzling fireworks, groovy DJs, and electrifying live performances.
The festivities kick off at 10 p.m., featuring DJs Sofia Fly and Cozmic Cat, and lead up to a countdown at 11:30 p.m. hosted by the internationally acclaimed drag performer Tynomi Banks.
In addition, interactive dance performances presented by the Dance Together Festival will take place at three locations: Sherbourne Common, Toronto Music Garden, and Exhibition Common at Harbourfront Centre, building up to the fireworks display. And the best part? It’s all free!
These fireworks can be enjoyed from any spot that has a view of Toronto’s inner harbour, with recommended locations like Sugar Beach Park, Little Norway Park, and HTO Park offering prime viewing experiences.
For those who prefer to ring in the New Year from the warmth and comfort of their homes, the City of Toronto Culture YouTube channel will livestream the entire event.
Transportation has been thoughtfully arranged for the night. The TTC is offering free services from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m., making it easy for party-goers to travel to and from the event.
GO Transit will also be operational for those needing to plan longer journeys.
And for those driving to the event, Green P parking lots are available, although it’s important to note road closures around Queens Quay W. and Bay St., effective from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
There will not be any celebrations at Nathan Phillips Square.
Those visiting Nathan Phillips Square can explore Cavalcade of Lights – the City’s Christmas tree, holiday lights and public ice skating.
