Justin Trudeau tells Minister of Transport, “Pablo, what are you doing? You don’t have to deliver the presents yourself.”
“Come on, leave that to Santa… that’s his mandate. Your job is to make sure he’s good to go. The kids are counting on you.” .. and the minister calls Santa in North Pole to convey, ““Santa, we are ready! You can proceed as planned. Safe travels!”

Thus proceeds the lighthearted video Transport Canada released today announcing that the “North Pole’s most famous resident, along with his crew of nine reindeers have passed a strict certification and inspection process. They are now cleared for travel in Canadian airspace.”
Canada’s Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez has given Santa Claus the green light to fly through Canadian skies. Ensuring timely gift deliveries across the nation, Santa’s eco-friendly, emissions-free sleigh aligns perfectly with Canada’s climate goals.
The news follows a friendly nudge from the Prime Minister to Minister Rodriguez, emphasizing the importance of smooth gift distribution and Santa’s pivotal role in it. Santa, in response, submitted his thorough flight plan and a pre-flight checklist, wisely omitting the sensitive naughty or nice list, and confirmed he’s well-rested for the upcoming global journey.
Every year, Transport Canada officials embark on a unique mission to the North Pole to scrutinize Santa’s sleigh. They meticulously check everything from the landing gear to the navigation system. This year’s inspection included a fun twist, ensuring the sleighbells ring at just the right volume and that Rudolph’s nose is shining at peak brightness.
As Transport Canada extends warm holiday wishes to all, they also remind those traveling by more conventional means to arrive early, adhere to safety protocols, and spread kindness, just like Santa and his reindeer.
While it is not as “thrilling” as last year’s video, it is always a great idea to show the video to show to kids before the NORAD Santa tracker goes live on December 24th, 4:00 am MST.
