CBC/Radio-Canada announced the finalists on October 27 during La Choix du Canada / Canada’s Choice, narrowing a field of 325 applicants to five musicians competing to represent Canada at the Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas in May 2027.
The finalists include JUNO Award winners, Quebec and Acadian singers, and artists with international hits.
Who Are Canada’s Five Eurovision Finalists?
- William Cloutier: The Quebec singer-songwriter won Star Académie in 2021 and has performed the role of Johnny Rockfort in Starmania more than 360 times across Europe and Quebec. His 2022 album On Ira received an ADISQ nomination.
- Josiane: Originally from Dieppe, New Brunswick, the Acadian singer won La Voix in 2020. Performing in French and English, she has accumulated more than six million streams for Lose It All and released her debut album, Take Care, in March 2026.
- Rêve: The Montreal-born, Toronto-based dance-pop artist has recorded more than 175 million global streams. The JUNO winner is known for songs including CTRL + ALT + DEL, Big Boom and Whitney.
- TALK: The Ottawa singer-songwriter gained international attention with Run Away to Mars. He won the 2024 JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, while his single Time Machine spent nine weeks at No. 1 on Canadian radio this summer.
- Tyler Shaw: Originally from Vancouver, Shaw broke through with Kiss Goodnight in 2012. His music has generated 692 million global streams and more than 7.6 billion short-form video views. He completed his first European tour in 2026.
How Can Canadians Vote?
The five finalists emerged from applications submitted between August 31 and September 9.
CBC/Radio-Canada’s music teams initially selected 15 artists before an expert jury narrowed the field to five, considering vocal ability, stage presence, experience and musical vision.
Now comes the public’s turn.
As Eurovision’s announcement puts it, “It’s now up to fans from every corner of the country to have the final say.”
Canadians can watch the finalists’ performances and cast up to 10 votes through the official CBC/Radio-Canada Eurovision voting website.
Voting closes Thursday, November 5, 2026.
The winning artist will be announced by December. CBC/Radio-Canada and the selected performer will then work together to choose the song for Canada’s Eurovision debut.
