There are several farms that surround the Edmonton area and who provide the chance to pick your own fruits and vegetables! The u-pick farms and orchards in the central Alberta prairie setting offer a plethora of berries! Literally take your pick of black currants, Haskap berries, raspberries, Saskatoon berries, cherries, and many other sweet fruits native to Alberta. These generous local farms usually charge a small picking fee or will charge by the quantity you picked.
Some of the farms offer other activities, picnic areas, and tours of the grounds so you can make a fun and family-friendly day trip through touring the many farms or stopping at one to see it (and pick it) all. In addition to the huge selection of prairie berries, you’ll also come across apple orchards and vegetable gardens. Each year’s crop of products can vary and depends on seasonal weather patterns- check farm websites and social media for the latest crop updates.
Strawberry Fields
These Strawberry Fields are open to u-pick by appointment only. Their season is July to September when you are free to roam the fields and pick as many strawberries as you can carry.

Prairie Berry Farm
From its inception in 2006, the Prairie Berry Farm has planted over 6000 trees and created a beautiful space surrounding the farm. You can pick out your own Saskatoon berries and follow the afternoon up with a picnic in their day-use area.

Attracted 2 Apples
Choose from over 12 varieties of apples to pick yourself at the Attracted 2 Apples orchards and farm, northeast of Edmonton. There are at least 800 apple trees on site each year that grow sweet, tart, or bitter apples which you can’t find anywhere else in Alberta. They receive their trees from the University of Saskatchewan who are helping to develop apple trees suited to prairie conditions, so you won’t find the typical labels you see in the store.

Creekside Berry Farm
This berry farm usually runs until mid-July, so act fast to take advantage of their u-pick Saskatoon berry farm. The scenic landscapes provided by the entire area make for an enjoyable drive out to the farm where you can stay for the day, pick, and enjoy a beautiful sunset.

The Berry Farm
The u-pick services at The Berry Farm near Millwoods and Sherwood Park are by appointment only, but bring you to the farm at perfect sunset hours on the weekend. Choose from a huge fruit variety of black currants, Haskap berries, crab apples, strawberries, or raspberries for your evening, and ask about their preserves, frozen fruits, and local book sales.

You’ll find a wide variety of fruits and vegetables at Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm, as well as a host of other family-friendly activities. Or, you can book a Family Farm Picnic, tour the Sunflower and Corn Mazes, or book an All-In Family Fun Day.

Berry Ridge Orchard
This nearby berry farm has specialized in Saskatoon berries for over 25 years, and continues to offer u-pick fun, as well as off-sales of frozen berries. Every once in a while, Berry Ridge Orchard can also offer chokecherries or black currants.

Coronado Saskatoon U-Pick Farm
Enjoy an afternoon of picking your own black currants and saskatoon berries, and partake in a scenic farm picnic at Coronado. The endless orchards are a great excuse to get out and enjoy a country walk.

There is no appointment needed to shop the Saskatoon berries and raspberries available at Grace Gardens. And if you pack yourself a picnic, you can pair what you bring with your fresh berries at one of their picnic areas.

They also have farm animals to visit with, an ice cream shop, and a garden centre.

Grove Berry Patch
Browse seemingly endless orchard rows of plump Saskatoon berries and pick your own from the Grove Berry Patch near Spruce Grove. You’ll find plenty of Saskatoon berries but also raspberries, choke cherries, black currants, and high bush cranberries. Grove Berry can also cater to vegetable picking with fresh selections of carrots, corn, cucumbers, peas, potatoes, summer squash, winter squash and zucchini.

This an appointment-only u-pick experience through the owners of the Big Rock Berry Farm who open in July. There is usually a large selection of fruits available like Saskatoon berries, strawberries, rhubarb, Haskap berries, and cherries.

Blokey Blooms Farms
Blokey Blooms specialize in Haskap berries, also commonly known as Honeyberries. These berries provide a tart, sweet, and juicy flavour with tiny edible seeds, like a raspberry. The Blokey u-pick is open in July each summer.
