WestJet has announced its 2025/2026 winter schedule, featuring five new destinations and increased departures. The airline will operate 305 routes and serve 62 sun destinations across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the U.S.

Overall departures will rise by three per cent year-over-year, though total seat capacity will remain unchanged. This is due to the reconfiguration of former Sunwing and Swoop aircraft to WestJet’s standard layout ahead of the winter season.
New destinations include Panama City (Panama), Guadalajara and Tepic (Mexico), Havana (Cuba), and Managua (Nicaragua). Mexico City, which transitioned to year-round service, will operate through winter for the first time.
New destinations and routes
From its Calgary hub, WestJet will introduce six new routes, expanding its non-stop network to 98 destinations. These include Guadalajara, Panama City, Tepic, Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), and Cozumel (Mexico).
Returning/increased routes for Winter 2025/26
In Toronto, capacity will increase by five per cent. Two new sun routes will be added, including service to Havana. Flights to Varadero will rise by 38 per cent. Samaná, previously served by Sunwing Airlines, will now be operated by WestJet.
Thunder Bay will gain a new direct flight to Punta Cana, marking its first such connection. Hamilton will also see up to two weekly flights to Punta Cana during peak periods and increased service to Calgary, with five weekly flights offering access to over 70 one-stop destinations.
WestJet plans to operate over two million domestic seats this winter, serving 31 Canadian destinations from Calgary International Airport, with a focus on enhanced Western Canada connectivity. Seat capacity in the Latin America and Caribbean region will grow by six per cent.
