Netflix in an updated rule says those who do not live in the household will need to use their account to watch Netflix.

The streaming company says verification will be requested for a device outside the household when it logs into an account or is frequently used.

To verify the device, an email or message link will be sent with a 4-digit verification code, which needs to be entered on the device that requested it within 15 minutes. This device verification will need to be done periodically.

If you are travelling for an extended period, you “may be occasionally asked to verify your device.”

Netflix says it will use information such as IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity from devices signed into the Netflix account.
