Canada’s spa and wellness winners for 2026 have been announced, with properties in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec taking the country’s four top titles at the World Spa Awards.

Now in its 12th year, the awards recognize spas, retreats, brands and wellness experiences around the world. For Canadian travellers, the results offer a useful snapshot of the properties that stood out in four different categories.
Whistler Spa at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler was named Canada’s Best Resort Spa 2026.
Whistler Spa was selected from a nine-property field that also included Fairmont Spa at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Spa at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, HydroSpa Muskoka at JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa, Island Currents Spa at Sonora Resort, Kananaskis Nordic Spa at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, Pacific Mist Spa at Kingfisher Pacific Resort & Spa, The Spa at Fox Harb’r Resort and The Spa at Nita Lake Lodge.
The corresponding world title went to Lefay SPA World at Lefay Resort & SPA Dolomiti, Italy.
In the hotel category, Guerlain Spa at Hotel X Toronto won Canada’s Best Hotel Spa 2026. Canadian nominees included Guerlain Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Montreal, PAŪS Spa Expérience, Rainspa, Sense at Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Spa by Valmont at The Hazelton, Spa my Blend by Clarins, Stillwater Spa, The St. Regis Spa Toronto and Toronto Spa at Four Seasons Toronto.
Guerlain Wellness Spa at Waldorf Astoria New York, New York, USA, was named World’s Best Hotel Spa.
Spa Eastman took Canada’s Best Wellness Retreat 2026, ahead of fellow contestants Grail Springs Retreat for Wellbeing, Le Monastère des Augustines, Ste. Anne’s Spa and The Westin Trillium House, Blue Mountain.
Palazzo Fiuggi, Fiuggi, Italy, retained the world title.
Quebec also claimed the day-spa title. Strøm Nordic Spa, Old Quebec was named Canada’s Best Day Spa 2026. The category also featured Hammam Spa by Céla, Kiku Wellness, L’Éternel Spa, Natalie Maaden Spa, Orrin Spa at Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni, R SPA and Vettä Nordic Spa.
The world winner was WORLD SPA, New York.
Globally, the awards went well beyond traditional hotel spas, covering wellness retreats, cruise and airline lounge spas, treatments, design and spa brands.
Natura Bissé was named World’s Best Spa Brand, while Aromatherapy Associates won World’s Best Aromatherapy Brand. Sense, A Rosewood Spa took World’s Best Hotel Spa Brand, and Six Senses was named World’s Best Wellness Retreat Brand.
Among the newer properties, Guerlain Wellness Spa at Waldorf Astoria New York won World’s Best New Hotel Spa, Asaya Spa at Rosewood Mandarina in Mexico was named World’s Best New Resort Spa, and Six Senses London won World’s Best New Wellness Retreat.
Other winners reflected how broadly the wellness sector now stretches. Guerlain Spa at One&Only Aesthesis in Greece won World’s Best City Resort Spa, while Ibu Ketut Mursi, Intuitive Blind Healer at Mandapa Spa at Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Indonesia, received World’s Best Spa Signature Treatment. Air France by Sisley was named World’s Best Airline Lounge Spa, Ocean Wellness at Explora Journeys won World’s Best Cruise Spa, and The Spa at Desert Rock in Saudi Arabia received the award for World’s Best Spa Design.
World Spa Awards Managing Director Rebecca Cohen said this year’s winners reflect “the very highest standards of excellence, innovation and guest experience.”
