World Waterpark in West Edmonton Mall is marking its 40th anniversary with a one-day event and a limited-time ticket offer.

The main celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 2. The event will include a live DJ, photo booth, beach ball drop, character appearances, caricature artists, and a mermaid performer in the pool.
In addition, the waterpark is offering $40 admission from May 1 to May 15. The pricing reflects the 40-year milestone.
World Waterpark operates year-round, with water maintained at 31 degrees Celsius. It includes than 20 waterslides and multiple splash areas.
Its main feature, the Blue Thunder wave pool, holds approximately 12.5 million litres of water. Waves can reach up to 1.4 metres. Another attraction, the Skyflyer Zipline, runs above the wave pool and can accommodate up to four riders at a time.
World Waterpark is one of many attractions inside the vast West Edmonton Mall, North America’s largest shopping and entertainment centre. It also features Galaxyland, Ice Palace, Marine Life, Drive, Ed’s Bowling, Dragon’s Tale, Splatterverse, Birds of Paradise, The Ship, and Professor WEM’s Adventure Golf. The mall also includes more than 800 shops and services, along with a large food court offering a wide range of dining options.
