The deal brings a wide range of familiar grocery banners onto the platform, including Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, FreshCo, Farm Boy, and Longo’s. Convenience banners such as Needs, Boni Soir, and Voisin are also part of the rollout.
With this addition, DoorDash now works with four of the five largest grocery companies in Canada, based on sales. The move reflects growing demand for on demand essentials. In December 2025, about 25 percent of DoorDash’s monthly active users in Canada were ordering from grocery, convenience, alcohol, and retail categories.
Customers will see broad selection. On average, nearly 10,000 items are available per store, ranging from produce and pantry staples to household and pharmacy goods. In Canada’s five largest cities, orders typically arrive in under 60 minutes, depending on conditions.
Mike Goldblatt, DoorDash’s vice president of enterprise business development and partnerships, said the service is meant to help people manage tight schedules, whether they are doing a full shop or picking up ingredients for dinner.
To mark the launch, DoorDash is also working with Sylvia Nguyen, who created three recipes, including chicken pho and lemongrass chicken fresh rolls. Consumers choose arecipe to build their basket on DoorDash.
A promotion runs from April 27 to May 3, 2026, offering 30 percent off one grocery order through the app.
