Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre
Planning to drive to Calgary’s Chinatown this weekend? You can now park your car for free at Calgary Parking Authority Lot in Chinatown for two hours.
The City of Calgary, Calgary Parking Authority and Chinatown Business Improvement Area are partnering to offer free two-hour parking at CPA Lot 888 so that visitors can explore Chinatown’s culture and tasty delights for a longer duration.
The City’s Downtown Strategy is funding the parking subsidy and the City will be collecting data from this parking initiative for future funding decisions.
CBIA Executive Director Terry Wong said, “The provision of 2-hours free parking is a continuing effort by the BIA to make Chinatown a ‘must visit’ destination and a great visitor experience that is available, accessible and affordable for everyone to enjoy noon hour dim sum, evening family dinners, and weekend cultural experiences.”
In addition, Calgary Parking Lot Authority has new weekday promotions in seven CPA parkades where you can receive complimentary evening parking (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) with the purchase of a full daily parking session in City Centre, McDougall, City Hall, Lot 40, Centennial, Convention Centre and Platform Parkade.
MyParking app by Calgary Parking Lot Authority has a new feature — Local Deals — that will show deals from local businesses. This feature will only appear after you start a ParkPlus parking session which will then unlock coupon codes that you can use at participating Calgary businesses within a five km radius.
