Those who are visiting River Valley Parks like Rundle, Victoria and William Hawrelak can use the domes for picnics, skate changing or shelter from the weather.

The domes are part of Edmonton’s WinterCity Initiative that creates inviting public spaces to encourage outdoor activity and recreation. These are set up with the help of Geoscapes Inc. – the same people who set up dome dining last winter and summer in the Valley.

The city says the domes are not heated but will be lit after dark for evening use. There will also be tables and benches inside for seating.

The domes,  located near skating areas, are not bookable but are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

If you are interested in cozy dining inside clear domes, there are plenty of options in Edmonton including Riverside Bistro
