You can find winter patios in all different Edmonton neighbourhoods, with many in Old Strathcona, on Whyte Avenue, or located near the downtown core. These patios come from restaurants, pubs, and cafes alike, giving you plenty of variety for your meals and drinks. Stop in an Edmonton winter patio for coffee, tea, cocktails, or any meal of the day.

1. Riverside Bistro Igloo

3. Culina on the Lake

Hawrelak Park is a popular winter destination for skating, cross-country skiing, and fat-biking. Winters at the Park are also now a lot more enjoyable thanks to the food, coffee, and drinks from Culina. This smaller café offers all the breakfast and lunch essentials to fuel your activities, and gives you all of Hawrelak Park as your winter patio. But closer to the café you will find a few propane firepits.

You’ll find the Greenhouse’s winter patio off River Valley Road at the Victoria Golf Course (as well as the park’s skating oval). This is because their neighbourhood patio is quite large and is a comfortable place to enjoy their pub menu. You’ll find an array of lunch and brunch items, or drink and dinner items for later patio hangs.

      Winter patios have never been better looking, have they? I’ve lived in Edmonton my entire life, and winter patios have always looked better.
