The program’s recent acquisition by BMO signalled a commitment to revitalize the renowned loyalty program, and according to the news release, these new updates are the first step in that direction.
Starting August 7, Air Miles will partner with leading Canadian value retailer Dollarama, a company with over 1,500 stores nationwide. This alliance will give Air Miles collectors the chance to earn on purchases at a widely recognized value retailer.
Under the new partnership, collectors with a linked Canadian-issued Mastercard will earn 10 Bonus Miles on in-store purchases of $30 or more at Dollarama until November 6, 2023.
Moreover, BMO will offer 5x the Miles on Dollarama purchases to BMO Air Miles credit card holders until the same date, enhancing value for its members.
Additionally, the newly unveiled Air Miles Receipts initiative allows collectors to earn Bonus Miles on everyday grocery purchases. Initially launched in Atlantic Canada with plans for national expansion, collectors can capture a photo of their grocery receipt using the AIR MILES App within 14 days to earn Bonus Miles on eligible purchases.
Air Miles has also launched its Air Everything marketing campaign. The campaign showcases five main ways to earn Miles, including Online through airmilesshops.ca, In-store, Linked Loyalty, Travel, and Credit Card, thus covering virtually all shopping methods in Canada.
According to the news release, Air Miles has more than 10 million active collector accounts.
