Over the fall and December of 2022, Calgary was fortunate to witness the grand opening of some new and exciting restaurants. New places to eat are popping up in different Calgary neighbourhoods, and between all of them, offer a huge amount of variety. If you’re craving something all-new to eat, these new establishments give you a choice between casual, upscale, and everything in between. Try something new to eat in Calgary to add some warmth to your January. Something new like Italian or Mediterranean, gourmet pub food, south-Asian cuisine, craft beer, or treats and desserts.
Codo Agave Social House
Delta’s Codo Agave Social House has created a lovely farm-to-table dining experience for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have you covered for dessert with chocolate cheesecake, gelato, and more cake; and the Social House is the new place to go in Calgary for tequila. They offer a craft tequila experience with tequila cocktails, and a long list of brands to try straight.

Barbarella Bar
Why not pretend you’re on the Italian coast this winter? One of Calgary’s newest restaurant/bar combos can help! Barbarella Bar offer relaxing, Mediterranean-vacation vibes from their décor, atmosphere, and of course their food. Snack on Italian sharables like olives or crispy artichokes before diving into pizza, seafood mains, or fresh pasta.

Business & Pleasure
No matter your mood, Business & Pleasure has a plate or a fresh cocktail for you. The new Calgary bar offers a select menu of gourmet pub snacks which rotates frequently. Those fresh and new B&P signature cocktails include unique ingredients like a variety of bitters, cream liqueurs, fruity sodas, or fresh fruit.

Best of Kin
Best of Kin have worked hard to bring Calgary great beer. Their Summer Crush, Mom Perm, Potluck IPA, and any of their other beers can now be enjoyed in their Social House. And those beers can be enjoyed alongside some quality pub grub. As of the start of 2023, they’ve added a delicious brunch menu to satisfy your cravings until lunch or dinner.

There is a new fried chicken spot in town! And as a bonus, the new A Kitchen opened over Calgary’s coldest months. This makes their fried chicken comfort food all the more warming and satisfying. On top of the crispy chicken, A Kitchen offers fresh fruit tea, burgers, noodle dishes, and sides.

The Banquet
Calgary has a new spot for sports. The Banquet, which recently opened near the University, offers sports and games of all kinds, from the immersive ones in the pub like bowling and tabletop games, or the ones always on the television screens. The Banquet’s food menu includes items for kids, lunch specials, dinner, happy hour specials, snacks, and sweets.

It is time to try Eleven26 in Calgary; and it is time to try their massive burgers. These incredible signature burgers from one of Calgary’s newest restaurants deliver on quality, size, and variety. Eleven26 is also open for brunch, with mouth-watering eggs Benedict options.

Black Pepper
As one of downtown Calgary’s newest eateries, Black Pepper will make a convenient and delicious place to stop during all the winter festivals. Mount Royal’s newest eatery, OLEA, is a chef-driven restaurant which created their menu around the best of Mediterranean cuisine. What does that provide? Their menu offers lunch or dinners made of fresh vegetables and salads, pizza, handcrafted pasta, and smaller sharing plates.
