Edmonton’s cafes offer a great variety of hot drinks in general, like lattes, fogs, and fresh coffee. And many of these locations have hot chocolate either as the classic drink or with a unique twist.
Stop by any of these cafes/restaurants and warm yourself up after a day of skating, skiing, walking, or shopping.
Block 1912 Café
Do you prefer your hot chocolate with extra chocolate or a little bit of a kick? Block 1912 can cater to both cravings with its classic cup of cocoa and adult hot chocolate. The classic cup includes a creamy ganache, while the alcoholic drink, The Block, include hot chocolate with Bailey’s.

Highlevel Diner
Old Strathcona’s Highlevel Diner has a full menu for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. All of these consist of comfort food items, and the drinks are no different. The diner’s hot chocolate option is a double dose of comfort, with the drink served with a healthy topping of chocolate whipped cream.

Ayco Café
If you are stopping at Ayco Café in downtown Edmonton for one of their beautiful hot chocolates, then we highly recommend pairing the drink with a cruffin. Ayco’s cruffins are a sweet treat made from combining croissants with muffins! Along with a photo-worthy hot chocolate and dessert, you can try Ayco’s savoury sandwiches.

Sole Coffee
You can pick between several different chocolate- and/or coffee-based drinks to cozy up to this winter at Sole Coffee. The south Edmonton café serves up a variety of Latin American cuisine and café drinks. Some of their warm chocolatey drinks are made with cacao, while others are a mocha base. Their house specialty is the SOLE: a mocha drink with raspberry syrup and whipped cream. Sole also carries a wide variety of cold chocolate frappe drinks.

Transcend Coffee
Bring the kids to Transcend Coffee for a memorable hot chocolate treat. The café offers their chocolate ganache drink in two adult sizes, and in a small kids’ size at a cooler temperature. Transcend has two convenient Edmonton locations, and a menu of delicious pastries to pair with your hot (or warm) cocoa.

Brew & Bloom Café
There are two must-try hot chocolate varieties to try this season at central Edmonton’s Brew & Bloom. Along with the cafés signature warm drinks, you can now also order a vegan reishi hot chocolate, or a candy cane hot chocolate (topped with a marshmallow snowman!). Stay a while and try the café’s delicious brunch, lunch, or dinner options.

La Carraia
Edmonton’s La Carraia is more known for its delicious gelato than anything else. However, these winter cold snaps may have warm, cozy drinks on your mind, as opposed to cold desserts. You can order both from La Carraia and add some heat to the colder winter days with their four types of hot chocolate: original, Aztec, salted caramel, or white chocolate.

Little Brick Café & General Store
There are many reasons to stop by Edmonton’s Little Brick, including their adorable patio, the store to browse, and food/drink. You can warm yourself on these cold Edmonton winter days with their seasonal winter drinks or a classic hot chocolate. Their seasonal menu includes a raspberry mocha and a spiced hot chocolate.

You can relax with a classic cup of hot chocolate from any of Edmonton’s cozy Remedy Cafés. But the cafés also provide vegan hot chocolate, perfect for those who need dairy-free.
