Written and Directed by Carmell King along with Musical Director Brent Schaitel, So This Is Christmas tells the classic nativity story set in modern day Edmonton and features popular songs with a unique twist.

This year is the 9th Annual performance, Edmonton’s only full-scale presentation of the Bethlehem story. 50 children and youth reenact scenes from the Gospel of Luke.

1. Celebrate the Season light-up

The annual Celebrate the Season light-up is the kick-off to holiday events at the Alberta Legislature. The month-long event begins with the Alberta Legislature Light Up on December 3 at 4 p.m. The University of Alberta Mixed Chorus will perform at 4:15 p.m. and hundreds of trees on the grounds will be lit at 5 p.m., followed by hot chocolate and cookies and more music for all to enjoy!

2. Festival of Light

Sip hot chocolate and have a fun time at the zoo, enjoying the Light Installations, Skating, DJ’s, Fire dancers.

3. Luminaria

Stroll through the breathtaking candle lit paths. sip hot apple cider beside the bonfires, enjoy the seasonal sounds of strolling a capella singers and catch a glimpse of the magical “snow sprites” and glittering ice sculptures.

4. Country Christmas Lights

Enjoy a winter wonderland of Christmas lights from November 27 until January 3, 4-10 PM, 7 days a week. Santa and free hot chocolate will be on-site November 27-29, December 4-6, 11-13, 18-20, and 22-23, 4 – 9 PM. Details

5. Enchanted Forest – Fort Saskatchewan
