Watching salmon run during Fall is a unique experience Salmon running’s peak is in October, but you can also spot the fish in September – November. Salmon running, also known as migration, is when the fish swim from the ocean to rivers making their final journey upstream to their birthing grounds. Visit Capilano River Hatchery, Little Campbell Hatchery, Tynehead Hatchery, Hoy Creek Fish Hatchery and other hatcheries and parks around Vancouver to see the wonder of Fall migration.
On Sunday, Oct. 23rd, City of Coquitlam will host a grand event to celebrate the return of the salmon to Hoy Creek.
